Merchants’ Trade Show

The Merchants’ trade show is to stimulate cooperation within the film industry. Filmmaker will be gathered at a grand exhibition room. The Film Market offers various film facilities in order to support all exhibitors. This annual Film Market will capture the attention of exhibitors from all around the world. We also hope to introduce animated films, micro-films, television series, documentaries, and other film and television productions to the film market, and encourages the growth and development of the film industry.

 

Film Market Application Rules

The Canada International Film and Television Festival Film Market applications are open to film industry (and other related industries) professionals. The Film Market consists of activities such as, Merchants’ Trade Show, Project Venture, Industry Conversations, Market Screenings, Signing Ceremony, and other special events. 

 

Film Market Single Day Admission Rules:

  1. Film Market: The Film Market will be held on November 12, 2014.
  2. Admission Eligibility: All film industry (and other related industries) professionals are welcomed to participate. 
  3. Admission Methods: Those who wish to participate pass the on-site inspection at the registration centre before purchasing their admission ticket.
  4. Admission Fee: Single day admission to the Film Market is $150 CAD. Lost tickets will not be replaced; you will need to go to the process of purchasing a new ticket again. 
  5. Single Day Ticket Entitlement: Holders of the single day Film Market ticket are entitled to admission to the Merchants’ Trade Show, Market Screening, other Film Market activities, and free Wi-Fi.
  6. Site Management: Those who enter the Film Market must respect the intellectual property and follow the instructions of on-site staff. Those who violate rules will be asked to leave the property. Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings. The Canada International Film and Television Festival will not assume any responsibilities for any lost or stolen items.

Exhibitor Application Rules:

  1. Merchants’ Trade Show: The Merchants’ Trade Show will be held from November 12 to November 18, 2014 at the Canadian Film and Television Institute’s and North America (International) Multicultural Filmmakers Society’s headquarters.
  2. Exhibitor Eligibility: Application is open to all film and related industry organizations; including, micro-films, animated films, television series, and documentaries.
  3. Application Method:
  4. Types of Booths: There are three types of booths: Standard 2.5 m * 4m booths, Basic 4m * 4m booths, and Special booths.
  5. Participation Fee: All exhibitors are offer two meals per day provided by the Canada International Film and Television Festival.

  6. Booths: Exhibitors may choose their booths according to personal preference.
    1. Standard 2.5m * 4m Booth: Booth facilities include: 4 spotlights, 1 table, 1 cabinet, 3 folding chairs, and 1 extension plug. Additional equipment rental is available through the Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. The Canada International Film and Television Festival is responsible for booth construction.
    2. Basic 4m * 4m Booth: Booth facilities include: 6 spotlights, 1 table, 1 cabinet, 5 folding chairs, 1 trash can, and 1 extension plug. Additional equipment rental is available through the Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. The Canada International Film and Television Festival is responsible for booth construction.
    3. Special Booths: Special booths are arranged through the Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. Rental price is in accordance with the actual rental area. The Canada International Film and Television Festival is responsible for booth construction.
  7. Special Offers: Exhibitors receive discount on booth equipment, and Film Market admission tickets. Exhibitors will also receive deals at film festival designated hotels.
  8. Booth Set-Up Times: The booth set-up is set for 9:00AM – 7:00PM on November 1, 2014. The booth tear-down is set for 6:00PM – 9:00PM on November 21, 2014.
  9. Exhibition Management: All booths are arranged by the Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. Exhibitors must follow the rules and regulations set out the by Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. Booths may only be used by registered exhibitors (its company or organization). The transfer and sharing of booths is not permitted. Exhibitors are not allowed to bring their own booth furnitures, such as, tables, chairs, TV, etc. In special cases, this may be approved by the Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. Items at your booth are not allowed to be placed in public areas. Exhibitors must ensure that they have the copyrights of displayed items. The Canada International Film and Television Festival has the right to cease displayed items which may cause legal disputes. Exhibitors are responsible for all damages and legal and economic issues. Exhibitors are responsible for the transportation and design of the booth. Exhibitors are responsible for ensuring the set-up and tear-down of the exhibition booths, and any disputes, damages, or losses caused by the exhibitor.
  10. Information Management: Exhibitor information is only for the use of the Canada International Film and Television Festival’s project department. Staff are liable for any damage or loss of data. Information provided by the exhibitors will be used for Film Market advertisements, and Film Festival audio and video advertisements.
